Carozzi inaugurates two cutting-edge plants in its Agrozzi division, enhancing production capabilities to 50,000 tons annually. The new facilities cater to the rising demand for processed products, including a diverse range of tomato-based items and fruit compotes meeting the highest quality standards for both domestic and international markets.

“Carozzi took a new step in its consolidation as a major player in the agri-food industry and inaugurated two modern plants in its Agrozzi agroindustrial division in Teno, Maule Region: one for tomato sauce and foodservice products, and the other for fruit and vegetable pulp, which will enable the company to reach production volumes of 50 thousand tons per year.

The new tomato sauce and foodservice plant responds to the growing demand for processed products. It will supply different marketing channels with a new range of tomato sauces, ketchup, mayonnaise, mustard, pulp, fruit juices and dressings in general, both for its Carozzi, Pomarola, Vivo, Trattoría, Toscana and San Remo brands and for the main restaurant chains worldwide. In the case of the fruit and vegetable pulp plant, the project began in 2013 with the acquisition of Italian lines for the production and packaging of fruit compotes that, thanks to their modern process, do not require the use of preservatives or refrigeration. Already in 2014, the Vivo MiFrut product became the leader in the domestic market and in 2015, given the growth in international demand, the construction of a new plant was started, exclusively for the production of compotes with the highest quality standards required by the global baby food industry.

During the opening ceremony, Gonzalo Bofill Velarde, president of Empresas Carozzi, highlighted the importance of this new step in the company’s project to strengthen its position as a global player in the food industry. “Agrozzi has become a very relevant agro-industrial company worldwide in terms of the diversity of products it produces, its annual volumes, the customers it supplies and the farmers from whom we buy more than 1 million tons of fruits and vegetables a year, which arrive at our plants in more than 2,000 trucks a week. In addition, we generate direct jobs for more than 1,500 people in the region and opportunities for many more, such as transporters, agricultural workers, etc.,” he said.
