Sustainable Agriculture
At Agrozzi we have carried out the task of projecting the Chilean fields to the world over the last 30 years. We want to continue here because we are committed to work with a long-term vision, in harmony with the environment, with the people and for the development of a sustainable Chilean agribusiness.
Commitment to the environment
In the last 10 years we have developed initiatives to promote the water consumption reduction, the use of renewable energy and different measures to optimize the responsible and efficient use of resources in our production processes and supply chain.
Get to know our sustainable pillars
Responsible use of water
We focus on the optimization and efficiency of irrigation water, where we support tomato farmers with the implementation of Drip irrigation, which means a 50% saving and is 95% more efficient than traditional irrigation. This means that today almost 90% of the 4 thousand hectares of tomato crops are under technified irrigation, which has allowed us to increase yields from 65 to 95 tons per hectare on average, increasing the productivity and competitiveness of the crop.
Renewable Energies
Today, 100% of our Teno Plant’s electrical energy comes from renewable energies, which has implied a reduction of 14,964 tons of CO2, equivalent to taking 3,224 gasoline-powered cars out of circulation for one year.
We promote the circular economy
97.2% of the waste generated is valorized through various actions such as recycling and composting with different strategic partners. For example, industrial sludge, which represents more than 50% of all our waste at our plant, is revalued as a soil improver.
